Benefits

Salal Credit Union is committed to attracting and retaining talented individuals who contribute to the achievement of organizational strategy and objectives. We provide a performance-based compensation program which includes base pay, opportunity for annual bonuses, and recognition awards that reinforce our mission and values. While the compensation mix will vary by position, each employee is eligible for earning additional compensation beyond their base pay.

Employees have two healthcare plan options to choose from through our partnership with Cigna. Employees can choose a high-deductible healthcare plan with $0 in premiums for employee-only plans and discounted coverage for dependents, partners, and/or spouses. We contribute up to $1,575 per year towards employee-only health saving accounts and $2,375 towards family health savings accounts. A standard PPO plan is also available as an alternative to a high-deductible plan. Vision and dental coverage are also offered through Cigna. Coverage for dependents is also offered, with a portion of the cost covered by the Credit Union.

All full-time employees receive at least 15 vacation days and 12 sick days each year. As your tenure increases, so does your vacation time! We also offer paid holidays in accordance with the Federal Reserve calendar. To allow employees time to celebrate traditions, special occasions, or other important days that aren’t widely recognized, we offer two (2) floating holidays to employees to take throughout the year. New employees are eligible to take a floating holiday after 90 days of employment.

Salal provides a 401(k) plan for employees that allows pre-tax and post-tax (Roth) contributions. After six months of employment, Salal will match 50% of contributions, up to 4% of pay.

Our employees qualify for a $100 monthly transportation stipend for regularly commuting to a Salal facility as long as they do not drive to work.

Salal Credit Union offers generous tuition assistance to our employees. Each full-time employee is eligible to receive up to $7,500 each year to continue their education or earn a job-related certification. Part-time employees are eligible to receive $5,000 each year.

We will match up to $500 of our employee’s donations to qualifying charitable organizations each year.

Employees and their dependents have access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) through Wellspring. Our EAP supports the mental health of our employees and their covered family members by offering three (3) free counseling sessions per year and unlimited access to Wellspring’s online knowledge base and concierge services. We also offer wellness incentives through Virgin Pulse, which gives employees the opportunity to earn up to $125 per quarter for participating in the program and completing related activities.

Additional company-paid benefits include the following insurance programs: life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and long-term disability. For additional coverage, employees may elect voluntary products like accident, critical illness, short-term disability, and long-term care insurance. These products are paid for by the employee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Current Salal team members should not apply via the link on this webpage but rather via the link on the Commons under the HR department link. If you do accidentally submit your application via the link on this page, be sure to let the Talent Acquisition team know by emailing them at Careers@SalalCU.org.

A resume is required for your application. We prefer documents in Word or PDF format. You also have the option to upload a cover letter, but it is not required.

We do not suggest applying to the same job posting more than once. If you were not selected and you see the same job posted again in the future, then you are welcome to apply again. However, unless you have gained more relevant experience or updated your application materials to more explicitly explain your qualifications, it’s unlikely you would move forward in the process.

A member of our Talent Acquisition team will review your application. At that point they will determine if a phone interview will be appropriate. You will receive notice of that decision via email.

You can send an email to Careers@SalalCU.org to get in touch with the Talent Acquisition team. One of our helpful teammates will help you correct your application.

Probably not. If you received a confirmation email from ApplicantPro (our application tracking system) then we’ve received your application. If you move forward in the process, you may be asked to provide additional details, like references, detailed employment history, etc.

Anyone can submit an application for our General Opportunity posting. This is primarily an option for those who do not see a current role that exactly fits your background but are interested in working for Salal. Our Talent Acquisition team continually reviews the General Opportunity applications to schedule phone interviews and hear more about your background.

Our headquarters are located in Seattle plus we have four branch locations in the Seattle region. More information can be found on our Locations & Hours page. Some of our departments do work remotely or offer hybrid work schedules.

No! Many of our roles do not require banking experience, but some do. Be sure to read the job posting thoroughly to understand what kind of candidate would be the best fit for the role.

Not at this time. This might not always be the case, so if you are very interested, feel free to check back in the future.

Due to our internal policies, we generally don’t hire family members or housemates of our current staff. There may be exceptions to this on a case-by-case basis, so long as there is no conflict of interest.

Salal Credit Union strives to provide a generous package of benefits to our employees. We offer a number of healthcare insurance plans (including medical, dental, & vision), 401k contribution matching, paid vacation and sick time, and more!
